Martin Bigum (b. 1966) lives and works in Copenhagen. He is primarily a painter, but since the 1990s he has also experimented with installations, video art, sculpture, graphics, drawings, photography, music and poetry. Bigum has exhibited extensively in Denmark and abroad, and his works are represented in Danish and international collections such as ARKEN, ARoS, SMK/The National Gallery of Denmark, Malmö Konstmuseum, SE, Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris, FR, Musee d´Art Moderne de la Haute-Viennes, FR, Marc Blondeau Collection, CH, and in private collections in Sweden, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, USA and Japan. In 2015 Martin Bigum was honored as Knight of The Order of the Danish Flag (Ridder af Dannebrogsorden) by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe the 2nd of Denmark. |
